DUPR and PIRAT are both player-rating systems, but they are not the same thing. They use different internal calculations and a different scale. This page attempts to provide a rough translation from one system to the other, but it's important to note that it's not an exact conversion and players that have ratings in both systems may deviate from the conversions shown here.
For our club, PIRAT is the more useful operational tool because it lets us apply localised seeding for new players when we have reliable local knowledge that should be taken into account before enough recorded scores exist; PIRAT is also able to track doubles, singles and skinny singles games.
